We are looking for a Vehicle Functions Requirement Engineer to join our headquarters at Sant’Agata Bolognese (BO), reporting directly to the Head of Development Software Tools/Methodology Whole Vehicle.

You will be responsible for managing and coordinating vehicle functions throughout the development process, acting as the key interface between vehicle function developers and system architects. You will support the implementation, integration, and release of vehicle functions within the vehicle electronic architecture, ensuring alignment with project requirements and development milestones.

Your main activities will be:

  • Analyze vehicle functions from the Volkswagen Group platform function catalogue and adapt them to project-specific requirements.
  • Monitor and track vehicle function availability throughout project integration phases.
  • Ensure vehicle function readiness and availability at key development milestones.
  • Support software architecture definition across different control units.
  • Maintain and update communication matrices related to vehicle functions.
  • Develop vehicle function architecture documentation, including block diagrams and boundary condition models.
  • Define validation and test plans for vehicle functions.
  • Prepare recommendation and guidance documentation for vehicle functions.
  • Collaborate with system engineering teams and stakeholders.

About you

  • University Degree in Engineering
  • At least 5 years of experience in vehicle software architecture design.

Competences in:

    • Design approaches according to ISO 26262
    • System engineering methodologies and techniques
    • Requirements management tools such as Rational DOORS or PTC Integrity
    • System design using Vector PREEvision
    • Vehicle communication networks (CAN Bus, FlexRay)
    • VW Group electronic architectures and development processes
  • Fluent English, German will be a plus.
  • Ability to deliver under pressure
