THE ROLE

You will be working in a multicultural and multi-disciplinary group, where neuroscientists and engineers experts collaborate, each with their own expertise, to carry out common research.

The Multiscale Brain Communication Research unit is coordinated by Prof. Luciano Fadiga, who has extensive experience in neuroscience.

The research focuses on exploring the neural control of movements in health and disease. This includes the study of how to best design rehabilitation protocols for stroke patients and to use motor control knowledge to stratify patients and allow personalized treatments.

Within the team, your main responsibilities will be:

  • Design and validate instrumental measures of motor performance in healthy and clinical populations.
  • Design and test hardware-software solutions to integrate and then analyze multimodal dataset.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENT

  • A PhD in neuroscience, including biomedical engineering, and similar disciplines
  • Documented experience on the complex multimodal data acquisition and analyses
  • A strong publication record
  • The ability to properly report, organize and publish research data
  • Documented experience in coaching junior scientists
  • Good command in spoken and written English

ADDITIONAL SKILL

  • Experience on motion capture, human invasive and non-invasive neurophysiological recordings
  • Knowledge of basic programming languages (e.g., Python, C++)
  • Good communication skills
  • Strong problem solving attitude
  • High motivation to learn
  • Spirit of innovation and creativity
  • Good in time and priority management
  • Ability to work in a challenging and international environment
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a highly interdisciplinary environment

COMPENSATION PACKAGE

  • A yearly gross salary of 30.000,00 euro
  • Private health care coverage depending on your role and contract
  • Candidates from abroad or Italian citizens who have carried scientific research activity permanently abroad and meet specific requirements, may be entitled to a deduction from taxable income of up to 90% from 6 to 13 years.
