Purchasing & Logistics Specialist - Mendrisio site (Ticino)

Purchasing & Logistics Specialist

The Purchasing & Logistics Specialist will join the Supply Chain department ensuring the effective management of direct and indirect purchasing activities across the production sites and guaranteeing the constant availability of materials required to meet the production plan. This role supports the Supply Chain department in implementing purchasing strategies, building strong supplier relationships and managing inbound and inter-site goods flows, while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives, cross-functional projects and full compliance with safety, GDP and regulatory standards across purchasing and logistics activities.

Main Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Ensure the supply of materials related to production activities, maintaining appropriate stock/inventory policies.
  • Receive purchase requests from other company functions and issue orders accordingly, optimizing their execution.
  • Manage indirect materials at reorder point, handling contacts with suppliers and their related supply plans.
  • Ensure the operability of the inbound goods flow, transfers between the two production sites, and from the external warehouse through providers/carriers, in compliance with safety, GDP, and tax regulations (where applicable).
  • Request import permits from Swiss Medic where necessary.
  • Update company systems with data under their own responsibility

Role Requirements

  • University degree in technical or economic field.
  • Proven experience in Purchasing management.
  • Knowledge of budgeting techniques and Project Management.
  • Excellent knowledge of English, good knowledge of French.
  • Knowledge of the general principles of the environmental and safety management system.
  • Knowledge of the risks and environmental aspects present in the department and related to one's own role.
  • Knowledge of environmental regulations.
