Purpose of the position: The Cargo Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the planning, coordination, and execution of all cargo loading and unloading operations. This role ensures maximum operational efficiency, strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards, and seamless logistics communication between onshore and offshore facilities and he reports to Cargo Superintendent.

How can you support us? Here below your responsibilities:

  • Supervise the planning and execution of all lifting, loading, and unloading operations.
  • Lead and coordinate field teams, including cargo operators, deck crews, and equipment Enforce strict compliance with HSE regulations, asset integrity protocols, and international lifting standards.
  • Manage operational resources and equipment to ensure project schedules and vessel turnaround times are met.
  • Facilitate clear and effective communication between onshore logistics bases and offshore platforms.

What are we looking for?

Education: Technical High School Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Engineering, or a related field

Experience: Minimum of 8 years of proven experience in cargo supervision within the Oil & Gas sector.

Languages: Fluency in Portuguese and functional working knowledge of English.

Technical Skills: Advanced knowledge of rigging techniques, sling configurations, crane operations, and weight distribution principles

Proficiency in securing cargo for marine transport, vessel loading plans, and container stuffing/stripping management.

Deep understanding of international maritime regulations (e.g., SOLAS, MARPOL), LOLER/PUWER regulations, and hazard identification (HAZID/HAZOP).

Strong tracking and inventory skills, berth planning, and vessel turnaround optimization.

IT Skills: Proficiency in real-time metocean condition monitoring and drift forecasting software.

What else should you know? All applicants must reside in Angola and possess a valid residence card, as Saipem is unable to offer sponsorships.
