Purpose of the position: The Mooring Master is responsible for leading, supervising, and safely executing all marine maneuvering, mooring, connecting, and unmooring operations of tankers alongside the FPSO. This role ensures strict compliance with international regulations and company safety standards and reports to Cargo Superintendent.

How can you support us? Here below your responsibilities:

  • Lead, supervise, and safely execute mooring, connecting, and unmooring operations of tankers (Offloading / Tandem / STS) alongside the FPSO, ensuring compliance with international maritime rules, OCIMF recommendations, and corporate guidelines.
  • Rigorously ensure that all marine operations comply with OCIMF guidelines, IMO regulations, and internal company safety procedures.
  • Evaluate metocean conditions (wind, waves, currents) before and during maneuvers, exercising Stop Work Authority whenever risks to the crew or asset arise.
  • Inspect the condition of mooring lines, cargo hoses, shackles, and towing systems, ensuring the operational readiness of all safety components.
  • Coordinate direct communication between the FPSO team, support vessels (SVs/Tugs), and receiving tankers throughout the entire approach and pumping process.

What are we looking for?

Education: Eng Degree or similar, Diploma Technical Qualifications accepted with significant experience

Experience: Minimum of 8 to 10 years of proven experience in an Offshore environment (FPSO or Tankers/Oil Tankers), with a strong track record in complex mooring operations.

Languages: Mandatory fluency in English (written and spoken) for radio coordination and international maritime reporting.

Technical Skills: Solid practical knowledge of vessel handling, offloading systems, and marine emergency management.

Master Class 1 Certification (STCW II/2 - Master Unlimited Certificate of Competency).

Mandatory STCW training (Basic Safety, Survival at Sea, Advanced Firefighting, First Aid, and Rescue).

Valid marine medical certificate (ENG1 or equivalent) and international vaccination card.

IT Skills: Proficiency in real-time metocean condition monitoring and drift forecasting software.

What else should you know? All applicants must reside in Angola and possess a valid residence card, as Saipem is unable to offer sponsorships.
