Saipem Offshore Construction (SOC) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Saipem S.p.A. SOC brings together all operational activities in Italy related to fabrication, technical services, maintenance, and logistics, providing essential support for the execution of offshore construction and offshore wind projects.

Purpose of the position: As Asset Equipment Production Engineer, you will respond to the PIPTEC Operation Manager and be part of the Offshore E&C – Pipeline Technologies function.

How can you support us? Here below your responsibilities:

  • Technical leadership of some families of Pipe Lay Equipment (PLE)
  • Definir the requirements of the PLE equipment in the technical supply specifications in line with the scope of work.
  • Prepare technical bid evaluation for the selection of the PLE equipment.
  • PLE Supplier interface both from technical and management point of view
  • Management/allocation of some families of PLE
  • Understand the projects need for assigned PLE and choose the best way to provide the proper equipment on time.
  • Be active part of PLE strategy upgrade/investment allocation.
  • Technical supervision of PLE integration with “correlated” machines
  • Participate actively at the Final Acceptance test of the PLE.

    What are we looking for?

    Education: It’s requested to have a master’s degree in mechanical/ electrical/ Electronic/ Mechatronic/ Automation Engineering. It’s possible to evaluate no graduated candidates with long and proven experience in equipment development/integration/management

    Experience: 6-8 years as an Asset Equipment Engineer or similar not necessarily in Oil &Gas Industry

    Languages: It’s mandatory very good knowledge (minimum B2 level) in read, written and spoken English

    Technical/IT Skills:

  • Interdisciplinary knowledge (mechanical/electrical/electronic) typical of Equipment Development/Integration
  • Good knowledge of Automation principles and device (PLC, Profinet, CAN Open, Ethercat)
  • Good attitude to personal relationships aimed at having proactive and effective interaction with PLE suppliers and building a very strong team
  • Good knowledge of Autocad
  • Good capability to read electrical drawings
  • Good knowledge of MS Office tools
  • Proactivity and open mind approach understanding the specific project constraints that can impact on managed PLE
  • ·Very good capabilities of problem solving and troubleshooting related to managed PLE working in different environment.

What else should you know? You will have the opportunity to travel abroad on our vessels or yard and technology center at Ploiesti (Romania) based on the project needs for short-midterm missions.
