Environmental Engineer

Objectives

  • Assess the environmental aspects/impact of Saipem activities and identify proper mitigation measures
  • Support, suggest and guide effective implementation of the Environmental Management systems requirements in the operational context
  • Support operational risk assessment related to environmental issues
  • Provide specialist environmental advice to department and site management
  • Provide guidance and subject matter expertise to the HSE Team

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Prepare and collate monthly, quarterly and annual environmental reports (local, corporate and authority)
  • Prepare for and apply for any required operational environmental / radiation permits
  • Ensure compliance with environmental permit conditions and applicable environmental regulations
  • Engage with and monitor 3rd party monitoring contactors in order to provide environmental data.
  • Prepare material and communicate to the employees’ key environmental topics and campaigns in support of overall education, instruction and training
  • Provide oversight, guidance and advice during environmental drills and exercises
  • Periodically review and update where necessary site level environmental documentation
  • Ensure timely review of environmental inspection findings and data
  • Manage the overall process for waste removal and engage with waste management contractor where applicable
  • Act as overall focal point for offshore waste management reporting
  • Spread Environmental rules / standards / procedures and bulletins on site
  • Organise and take part in environmental audits of waste management providers and environmental sub-contractors
  • Ensure logs and data for PTCCB reporting are properly maintained
  • Manage, Monitor and facilitate radiation aspects as it pertains to the environmental permit. E.g. organise 3rd party training or the procurement of dosimeters.
  • Take part in / provide technical advice in vendor or tender evaluations
  • Provide Legal compliance and reviews for Projects, including local and state requirements.
