Purpose of the position: The primary purpose of the Fabrication Coordinator is to oversee, synchronize, and drive the execution of structural, piping, and mechanical fabrication activities within the construction yard. This role ensures that all components are manufactured in strict accordance with Approved-for-Construction (AFC) engineering drawings, project schedules, and budget constraints and will report to the Integrity Mananger.

This position has Supervisory responsibilities covering Subcontractors, 3rd Parties and other short service staff personnel.

Key Accountability Areas - The FABRICATION & CONSTRUCTION COORDINATOR is accountable for:

  • Safe execution of fabrication and construction activities.
  • Delivery of assigned scopes to required quality, schedule, and cost targets.
  • Effective contractor and vendor coordination.
  • Compliance with engineering requirements, statutory obligations, and client standards.
  • Constructability and execution readiness of work scopes.
  • Quality of handover documentation and completion records.
  • Supporting of FPSO operational uptime, production availability and asset integrity during construction execution.
  • Offshore brownfield modifications
  • Fabric maintenance-related steelwork support
  • Access platform and secondary steel installation
  • Pressure-containing repairs and reinstatements
  • Lead and coordinate fabrication, construction, installation, and testing activities supporting FPSO operations, shutdowns, campaigns, and integrity-related work scopes.
  • Develop and define, potential scope of work for fabrication and construction activities arising from: asset integrity findings, maintenance requirements, anomaly resolution, minor modifications, shutdown preparations, inspection recommendations, temporary and permanent repairs. Review engineering deliverables, drawings, material requirements, work packs, method statements, procedures, and technical queries to ensure constructability and execution readiness

What are we looking for?

Education: Eng Degree or similar, Diploma Technical Qualifications accepted with significant experience

Experience: Typically, 5–10 years in construction, manufacturing, or a related project coordination role related to Offshore operations.

Languages: Fluent in English and Portuguese

Technical Skills: Deep understanding of pipe material classifications, weld procedures and processes, and non-destructive testing (NDT) methods.

Ability to read and interpret complex engineering blueprints, schematics, and mechanical models.

Understanding of Fitness for Service, API 579

Knowledge of NDT Qualifications Systems PCM, ASNT and written practices.

IT Skills: Weld Tracking Systems, SAP / ERP Systems, MS Sharepoint, AutoCAD / Navisworks and Aconex / AVEVA E3D
