Purpose of the position: As Production Operator, you will Execute pre-commissioning, commissioning, start-up, and operation activities at site. Ensure all activities are performed in compliance with operating procedures, HSE requirements, and scheduled timelines. Carry out operations such as: Operation procedures preparation; QA/QC certification; Fire Fighting System usage; HSE system usage; Integrated Control System usage; Perform maintenance and inspection activities to ensure safe operation. Operate and monitor plant process and utilities systems effectively and safely. Facilitate routine maintenance by managing isolations and reinstatements in coordination with the Control Room Operator and Production Supervisor.

How can you support us? Here are below your responsibilities:

  • Start, stop, and operate process systems, including:

  • Gas compression and conditioning units.

  • Glycol dehydration units.

  • Hydraulic Power Units (HPUs).

  • Produced water treatment systems.

  • Cooling, filtration, and deaeration systems.

  • Operate all systems within safe engineering limits and process parameters.

  • Monitor and adjust chemical injection and dosing systems to maintain process efficiency.

  • Support laboratory sampling and analysis as required.

  • Execute pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up activities following approved procedures.

  • Assist Control Room Operators (CRO) during plant start-ups, shutdowns, and process transitions.

  • Apply knowledge of cause-and-effect logic to safely manage process changes.

  • Coordinate closely with CRO, Production Supervisor, and maintenance teams to ensure safe and efficient operations.

  • Provide timely and accurate feedback on field operations to control room staff.

  • Support shift handovers with detailed status updates on field conditions.

  • Ensure compliance with SAIPEM procedures, applied to the function, including Saipem Permit to Work System.

What are we looking for?  

Education: Diploma or degree in Process Operations, Mechanical, or related discipline.

Experience: 3–5 years in field operations within a gas processing, NGC, or petrochemical facility.

Languages: Portuguese and Professional English.

Technical Skills: Process operations mastery, safety and compliance, equipment troubleshooting, and flow measurement.

IT Skills: Microsoft tools

What else should you know? All applicants must reside in Angola and possess a valid residence card, as Saipem is unable to offer sponsorships.
