ONLINE SURVEYOR: AGR to GPS for SEND

Mission

▪ Operate online survey software and hardware, ensuring that the Survey and Positioning systems are configured correctly, that all required survey data logging is achieved and that positioning and data quality is of a high order

Tasks

▪ Support the Survey Engineer in the installation of Survey and Positioning systems
▪ Verify that the online systems are installed/configured correctly and performing within specification
▪ QC dimensional control surveys
▪ Record and implement all vessel, structure and ROV offsets and misalignments
▪ Ensure the correct geodetic datum is utilised as per project requirements
▪ Confirm the correct entry of geodetic data (by use of a test calculation) and background structure data in the Survey systems
▪ Plan survey data acquisition to ensure compliance with specifications or procedures
▪ Define an onboard data management system in line with company and project specification
▪ Plan the calibration of the Survey and Positioning systems and execute the calibration process
▪ Assess the quality of calibration data and review it prior to approval
▪ Monitor system performance against specification and re-assess QC criteria as required
▪ Quality control positioning and data acquisition systems
▪ Produce line plans to ensure adequacy of data coverage for survey operations
▪ Conduct observations of seawater parameters in order to determine the speed of sound in seawater
▪ Ensure that raw and processed survey data are stored and backed up in a logical and safe manner
▪ Ensure that clear and accurate online survey logs are maintained
▪ Ensure that continuous recording of good quality survey data is maintained
▪ Produce the survey operational log for use in the daily reports
▪ Act as Report Coordinator if required producing field reports of an acceptable standard
▪ Conduct all activities following Company Procedures and Work Instructions
▪ Participate positively in safety meetings, project risk assessments and tool box talks
▪ Perform risk assessments and tool box talks in the course of day-to-day activities
▪ Adhere to Company safety, health and environmental procedures and policies▪ Be in compliance with:
- IMCA C004 (Competence Assurance and Assessment: Offshore Survey Division)
- IMCA S005 (Academic Requirement for Surveyors Working in the Offshore Survey Sector)
