We are looking for a SET Leader Wheels System to join our headquarters at Sant’Agata Bolognese (BO), reporting directly to the Head of Chassis Mechanics & Mechatronics

You will be both the leader of your team and the representative of the Technical Development in the project for the defined range of characteristics, functions and level 3+ systems. You will steer and coordinate the engineering, quality, costs and deadlines of the team. Moreover, you will take decisions on trade off within your delegation of authority (budget threshold, no functional veto…).

You will be:

  • Accountable for level 3+ systems on engineering, quality, costs, compliance duties and deadlines within the technical area from PM of PF Milestone
  • Accountable for Business case preparation on possible solutions
  • Responsible to take key technical decisions for your level 3+ systems (e.g., determining an architectural alternative)
  • Responsible for tracking targets for engineering, quality, costs, compliance duties and deadlines or implementing measures to reconcile or adjust in coordination with PL Systems/Project manager
  • Accountable for agreements and trade-offs, within your delegation of authority or escalating to PL Systems/CTE in case of deviation outside your delegation of authority or veto by SET member, preparing underlying analysis for decision.
  • Responsible for steering and coordinating assigned SET teams on engineering, quality, costs and deadlines
  • Accountable for tracking timing and costs of level 3+ systems, periodically aligning the PF targets are met
  • Technically responsible for your system and for system release (therefore cannot be overruled by Technical System Engineer, to be approved by the Team Lead)
  • Responsible for checking the plausibility of deadlines and budget and ensuring that deadlines and budgets are met
  • Accountable for managing budget within your threshold
  • Accountable for all PL System recommendations within your authority for the project decision rounds
  • Accountable for BoM and FaKoM progress
  • Responsible for Product Conformity according to the Horizontal Compliance Risk management system
  • Responsible to work with the team on the best possible solutions for the product and company, taking into account the interests of the participating divisions
  • Moreover, in this role, you will be accountable for System Level 3 Release Management, acting as the SET Leader within your system of competence. You will prepare and issue Release Recommendations to the Head of EM‑4, who hold final approval authority.

Plan Release Management

  • Develop and maintain the Release Management Plan, defining activities and timelines for System Level 3 releases.

Evaluate Release Readiness

  • Assess work products and related processes to determine release capability and compliance.

Track Release Progress

  • Monitor key measures and address deviations or derogations when they arise.
  • Produce Release Management reports as defined by the PEP and RM Plan.
  • Verify adherence to project management tracking criteria.

Grant Release Recommendations

  • Issue Release Recommendations for individual work products (including deviations/derogations).
  • Provide consolidated System Level 3 Release Recommendations.

About you

  • University degree in Engineering
  • At least 5 years of experience in a similar role in automotive, with a focus on chassis
  • English knowledge, German and Italian will be considered a plus
