As Piping and Layout Lead FOR HULL you will join our business line ENCAR, conducting the following activities:

ACTIVITIES AND SKILLS

Proven experience in the design of hull for floaters plant (FPSO, FLNG, FSRU….) with a particular focus on:

  • Design of plant layout;
  • Hull layout development, specifically related to piping and equipment and hull constraints;
  • Design of critical piping routes starting from process diagrams (P&ID) and layouts considering aspects such as: accessibility, maintainability, safety, thermal displacements, material costs;
  • MTO of piping materials based on P&ID and layouts;
  • Interpretation of technical specifications identifying critical aspects;
  • Skills in module design and impacts related to module transportation;
  • Analysis and interpretation of contractual clauses and critical analysis of client requests;
  • Planning activities, commenting on project schedules, delegating tasks to collaborators, and continuously monitoring progress;
  • Managing technical discussions with stakeholders, both internal (Project Management, construction, procurement) and external (customer, JV partners, entities);
  • Critical analysis of project roadmaps and active participation in defining project execution strategy;
  • Continuous monitoring of cost and hour budgets;
  • Timely management and issuance of change orders and variations from the base scope;
  • Managing the procurement chain for piping materials.
  • Supervision of piping engineering activities produced by external subcontractors or other Saipem engineering centres.
  • Collaborate with naval architect, maintenance and operations teams to ensure adequate design
  • Solve hull tanks interference
  • Handling design knowledge for offshore Oil & Gas Projects.
  • Participate in 3D Model reviews with client and propose solutions to problems.
  • Knowledge of rules and requirement for ship classification (RINA, DNV, ABS or equivalent)
  • Liase with Mooring system and risers from subsea interface
  • Define Engine Room, Cargo/Ballast tank configuration and interface, including ventilation pipe/trunk

 

The resource will ensure the execution of Piping Engineering activities within the costs and times provided by the contract and in accordance with the strategies defined by the project management, coordinating a team of resources commensurate with the size and type of plant. The team includes various figures such as Piping Material Engineer, Piping Flexibility Engineer, Piping Designer, and Piping Engineer of various backgrounds and nationalities.

QUALIFICATION: Bachelor’s degree/ Diploma in a relevant field

KNOWLEDGE OF ENGLISH LANGUAGE: Good level of English speaking and writing

LABOUR RELATIONSHIP: permanent contract

YEARS OF EXPERIENCE: 5-10

IT SKILLS: : Competent with Microsoft office program: Words, Excel, PowerPoint. Good knowledge of 3D software (E3D, S3D or equivalent as well as Navisworks) .

SOFT SKILLS: Team spirit mind set, determination and curios to learn, autonomy, anticipation, attention to detail, analytical skills, good communication and interpersonal behaviors.

NICE TO HAVE: knowledge of JIS design standards, availability for international mobility, Italian speaking, French speaking

LOCATION: Milano HO. Availability to travel for short and long period in Italy and abroad, both at engineering centers and construction sites
