THE ROLE

You will join the multi-disciplinary team of developers and designers at the iCub-Tech facility, where electronic, mechanical, and software engineers collaborate altogether, each with their own expertise, to carry out common research.

You will contribute to the joint laboratory between IIT and Camozzi. Camozzi Automation is a global leader in designing and producing motion and fluid control components, systems, and technologies for Industrial automation, transportation, and life science industries.

The IIT-Camozzi joint laboratory conducts research and development in robotics and control applied to smart grippers and actuators. This joint initiative aims to co-design innovative mechatronic devices in collaboration with the Camozzi Mechatronic Application Research Center (MARC) team.

Within the team, your main responsibilities will be:

  • To engineer advanced approaches for gripper sensor integration.
  • To design digital-twin models of the systems at hand leveraging Model-Based System Engineering (MBSE) methodology.
  • To synthesize and simulate control algorithms for autonomous and adaptive grasping with grippers.
  • To design and execute experiments for the validation of algorithms and models.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Master’s degree in control engineering, electronic engineering or related fields.
  • Experience with MATLAB and Simulink.
  • Experience with electronic design toolchains.
  • Good communication skills and ability to cooperate.
  • Creative, proactive, and collaborative attitude.
  • Proficient in English, written and oral.

ADDITIONAL SKILLS

  • Knowledge of electronics, mechanical engineering, and control.
  • Knowledge of mathematics, physics, and robotics foundations.
  • Experience with programming languages such as C/C++, Python.
  • Experience with embedded software development.
  • Experience with simulation tools.
