Technical Safety Engineer_Loss Prevention & Firefighting Activities

As Technical Safety Engineer in Loss Prevention and Firefighting Activities, you will join our Department/Function of Technical Safety and Environmental, in the business line Energy Carriers, conducting the following activities for all project phases:

  • Perform and manage the following loss prevention activities for onshore and floating facilities: 
  • Fire and Gas Detection (including F&G Mapping Studies)
  • Hazardous Area Classification (HAC)
  • Passive Fire Protection including cold spill/splash (PFP&SCP) (prescriptive and risk based approach)
  • Escape Routes, safety equipment and safety signs for different plant typologies, considering International and National standards, with specific focus on numerical solutions and relevant reports and layouts preparation 
  • Perform and manage the following firefighting activities for onshore and floating facilities: 
  • Design of all firefighting systems (Fire Pumps, distribution and deluge system, Sprinkler System, Clean Total Flooding System) based on internation onshore and offshore fire protection standards
  • Sizing of fire water Network, fire water pump and spray deluge & foam system.
  • Preparation of the firefighting design basis, fire water and foam system PFDs/P&IDs, fire water network layouts, fire water and foam requirements calculation
  • Preparation of fire protection system and equipment supply specifications, evaluation of fire protection system supplier's technical offer and follow-up of the fire protection system vendor.
  • Definition of the principles of operation, commissioning and testing of fire protection systems.
  • Interface with Clients on technical issues
  • Organize and conduct the meetings with other JV Contractors and Client
  • Evaluate suppliers and sub-contractor bids involved in the risk assessment studies like F&G Mapping Studies and Fire Risk Studies.
  • Manage engineering Sub-Contractors and Suppliers.
  • Prepare design criteria, specifications and reports
  • Manage own tasks and activities within the agreed schedule and budget
  • Contribute with specific expertise to highly skilled multi-disciplinary team
  • Contribute to the development and to the continuous technical improvement of internal work methodologies and procedures

QUALIFICATION: Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in technical disciplines

KNOWLEDGE OF ENGLISH LANGUAGE: Advanced knowledge of English language. Ideally, candidates will be able to demonstrate excellent report writing. Proficiency on additional foreign language is a plus.

LABOUR RELATIONSHIP: permanent contract

YEARS OF EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 5 years’ proven experience within the Oil & Gas Industry, ideally both for onshore and floating applications, in the same or similar positions with International Main Contracting & Engineering Companies or Consultancy Companies on Technical & Process Safety matters

IT SKILLS:

  • Focus on Risk Analysis software tools and has familiarity with PC software MS Office
  • Able to use Sunrise system (I) Pvt. Ltd. Pipe Net (Spray Sprinkler Module).
  • Advanced skills in the most common MS Office applications, Office365 suite, Autocad and Microstation

SOFT SKILLS

  • Self-motivated thinker able to work both independently and as a part of a larger Team.
  • Confident in presenting in front of Clients.
  • Good communication, problem-solving and decision making.
  • Strong attitude to collaborate with colleagues also by means of IT / digital tools
  • Ability to manage teams during workshops and review meetings.

NICE TO HAVE

  • Experience in using Hazardous Area Classification commercial tools (specific for IEC 60079-10-1) and/or F&G Mapping commercial tools (e.g. Insight Numerics software like Detect3D and In:Flu)
  • Experience in naval applications

TRAVELs: Availability to business trips/missions.
