PURPOSE OF THE POSITION: As an Utilities and Offsites Process Engineer, you will join our Department TEAM (Technology based Activities and Methods) which deals, among others, with the process design of Utilities and Offsite units, in the business line Energy Carriers, conducting the following activities:

ACTIVITIES:

  • Preparation of Process Flow Diagrams and Heat and Material Balances to show unit operations and plant operational data
  • Sizing of Equipment and Instrumentation preparing Process Data sheets and Duty Specifications
  • Elaboration of Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (PIDs), Cause and Effect Charts, Control Narratives and Logic Sequences
  • Development of hydraulic and thermal calculations in steady state and transient operation
  • Preparation of Operating Manuals and Test Run procedures
  • Attendance to multidisciplinary project reviews ensuring that the systems comply with the applicable codes, standards, regulations, and best practices.

In Saipem these activities may apply to several competitive, safe and sustainable plants and processes, in the energy transition towards Net Zero. Leveraging on your previous experience as process designer of utilities systems, you can contribute to Saipem expertise and offering either on Onshore and/or Floating Production Structures.

QUALIFICATION: Process Engineer should possess a Degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering. Significant and valuable previous experience is requested in process design of utilities systems like instrument and service air, primary and waste water treatment, power generation, heat transfer fluids (cooling water, steam, hot oils).

Process design experience in floater applications is considered a plus.

KNOWLEDGE OF ENGLISH LANGUAGE: good, both written and spoken

LABOUR RELATIONSHIP: Permanent Contract

YEARS OF EXPERIENCE: 10 years with min. 5 years of experience as process designer of utilities systems

IT SKILLS: Knowledge is expected for the most common software relevant to:

  • Process design (e.g. Hysys)
  • Hydraulic design (e.g. Pipenet)
  • Cad design (e.g. Autocad, Bluebeam)

SOFT SKILLS: Communication, Teamwork, Problem-solving, Adaptability

NICE TO HAVE: Projects execution often foresees involvement of international branches or partners; in addition, plants commissioning and start up generally require support from process engineering. Consequently, even though the main location for the position will be Milan, availability for international mobility, also for long-term periods (1-2 years) is requested.
