THE ROLE

You will be working in a multicultural and multi-disciplinary group, where electronics, mechanical and software engineers collaborate, each with their own expertise, to carry out common research.

As part of IIT, the Artificial and Mechanical Intelligence research unit (www.iit.it/web/ami) is seeking to appoint a full-time Robotics Software Engineer on the topic of robot control, perception and planning.

You will join the interdisciplinary team of the iCub project and you will contribute to the specific iRonCub project, whose aim is to make the humanoid robot iCub fly, and to the ergoCub project, a collaboration with INAIL aimed at human-robot collaboration.

We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic robotics engineer to join our team to bring modern robotics control and perception planning techniques to the factory floor.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENT

  • Master’s degree in robotics engineering, computer science, control engineering, computer engineering or related fields
  • Good communication skills and ability to cooperate
  • Creative, proactive and collaborative attitude
  • Proficient in English language (written and oral)

ADDITIONAL SKILL

  • Experience with programming languages such as C/C++, Python or MATLAB
  • Experience in control or motion planning of robots 
  • Experience with computer vision and depth sensors
  • Experience in industrial Robotics software
  • Strong problem solving attitude
  • High motivation to learn
  • Spirit of innovation and creativity
  • Good in time and priority management
  • Ability to work in a challenging and international environment
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a highly interdisciplinary environment
