Title: Manufacturing Engineer - APU

Responsibilities for this role include:
- Utilize a data-based approach to lead and implement continuous improvement projects to meet APU (Autonomous Production Unit) KPI’s
- Optimize manufacturing processes, equipment & tooling for quality, productivity & minimal material usage.
- Troubleshooting and problem resolution of equipment, tooling, and processes.
- Provide technical training and support to production and maintenance personnel to ensure competence in the operation and maintaining of tooling & equipment.
- Manage equipment, tooling for injection & urethane molding, die cutting and plastic part assembly processes to ensure optimum product quality, productivity, and uptime.
- Set up, start-up, and monitoring of new/transfer equipment, molds, and tooling.
- Manage all equipment and tooling-related procedures, work instructions, and databases.
- Review, revise, and implement preventive maintenance instructions and practices to improve uptime.
- Participate in the creation and improvement of process work instructions.
- Meet key performance metrics for safety, quality, cost, and delivery.
- Identify and apply the latest technical advancements in automation, equipment, and tooling.
Experience/Technical skills required:
- Engineering/Technical Degree in mechanical, electrical, manufacturing, or mechatronics is preferred.
- Minimum three years of demonstrated experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Leading Continuous Improvement Teams.
- Background in any of the following areas is strongly preferred:
- Injection/Insert/Urethane molding
- Die Cutting/Stamping.
- SOLIDWORKS, Inventor, AutoCAD & Mastercam.
- Robotics: Denso, UR, Epson, Fanuc, Yushin.
- CNC Machining, turning & grinding.
- Electrical controls, PLC troubleshooting & programming.
- Plastic joining technologies (thermal, ultrasonic, vibration).
- Machine repair and preventative maintenance.
- Project management.
- Machine design and development.
- Familiar with Quality tools (APQP, PFMEA, Control plans, measurement techniques)
- Knowledge of IATF16949:2016, ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015
Work Environment/Physical Demands:
- The work setting includes all areas of the plant and its offices.
- Up to 5% domestic travel.
- Work with manufacturing equipment will include working around hot plastic, heated tools, and moving equipment.
- Ability to lift up to 70 lbs. intermittently.
- Ability to move molds and tooling in excess of a hundred pounds on an intermittent basis.
