PURPOSE OF THE POSITION: As 1st Assistant, you will join our Department VECOP, in the business line Asset Based Services, conducting the following activities:
- Coordinate work and manpower on board for the assigned shift in compliance with Project specification, in order to ensure efficient performance and respecting HSE and Quality procedures and practices
- Assist the Offshore Construction Manager with regard to interdisciplinary coordination of all works on board
- Supervise the team of foremen and supervisors, with regard to the various disciplines/categories of construction and assembly work, in order to comply with the quality and safety standard
- Coordinate the construction activities during the shift and optimise all production phases
- Ensure that the Offshore Construction Manager is kept fully informed of potential problems and construction status
- Liaise with Chief Mate, 2nd Engineer and Vessel Equipment Engineer in order to ensure preventive maintenance and construction activities
- Liaise with subcontractors' supervisors to optimize production
- Solve matters related to coordination, priority and interface between the different disciplines in order to meet the scopes of the project
- Ensure that the Permit-to-Work system for construction crew is adhered to and ensures that the daily Tool Box Talks and JSA, if required, are carried out according to the procedures
- Motivate all construction crew/subcontractors with regards to health, safety and environment awareness
- Ensure the compliance with the standards dictated by Saipem QHSE policies and safety procedures, in order to perform the activities in a safe manner
- Report incidents and near-miss events
- Manage the Crane operations, including coordination with the Chief Mate for main crane movements on board, ROV launching and underwater operations
- Assist marine operations if required
- Provide a construction report at the end of each shift
- Assist the Vessel Field Engineer in the follow up of project equipment and consumable, operation and monitoring of the stinger and JLT
- Ensure the rigging gear used is within date and properly marked
QUALIFICATION: Preferably with technical High School Diploma or civil, mechanical, electrical or naval engineering background
KNOWLEDGE OF ENGLISH LANGUAGE: English B1
LABOUR RELATIONSHIP: permanent contract
YEARS OF EXPERIENCE: 6 or 7 years of prior experience in the oil & gas business. 4 year of experience in the role of 1st assistant or similar Supervisor Role
IT SKILLS: Office 365
SOFT SKILLS:
- Problem solving;
- Ability to work in a team as well as individually with a minimum of supervision;
- Flexible and available to work on offshore rotation on board the vessels at national and international level.
NICE TO HAVE: engineering background.
LOCATION: Milan, Italy. Mobility to travel to all international locations and on board.
