Logistics Manager

Responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:

  • Developing and implementing supply chain strategies to improve performance and reduce costs
  • Overseeing the purchasing and inventory of goods based on company requirements
  • Managing relationships with key suppliers to maintain quality of goods, timely delivery and compliance with terms of contracts
  • Managing relationship with customers and coordinating the orders management / customer service activity - for both customers with EDIs and customers with close orders.
  • Coordinating with other departments such as sales, production, and finance to forecast demand or create supply plans that ensure availability of products or services
  • managing stock identifying and implementing opportunities to reduce it in finished goods, wip and raw materials
  • assuring a high inventory management accuracy working on regular cycle count (based on ABC logic) and, consequently, identifying main inventory discrepancy root-cause
  • Identifying and implementing, in alignment with company strategy, technologies or systems to improve and streamline supply chain processes
  • Assessing and managing risks to supply chain operations due to potential disruptions or variances
  • Monitoring and adjusting supply chain activities to meet changing market conditions, new business opportunities, or cost reduction strategies
  • Ensuring compliance with laws, regulations, and ethical standards in all aspects of supply chain operations
  • Monitoring and improving all the Supply Chain main KPIs in order to keep the best delivery service and overall supply chain and logistics cost
  • Maintaining accurate records of supply chain activities, including tracking, measurement, reporting and analysis of performance data
  • monitoring and optimizing transport and customs & duties costs - both inbound and outbound, identifying main opportunities and implementing them

Experience and technical skills required include:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field
  • Continuing education in the areas of production and inventory control, plus relevant experience. APICS certification a plus.
  • Five or more years in progressively responsible materials/logistics management positions.
  • Knowledge of computerized MRP/ERP systems essential.
