The resource will be part of the important transformation program that involves all Saipem Group and plays a key role in ensuring Digital Transformation projects meet objectives and she/he will govern the data management architectures and the related technology authority methodologies.

The resource will contribute on transformation initiatives related to existing technologies, focusing also on new project digital imprinting leveraging on new technology introduction to meet project requirements.

The person will focus on these areas:

  • Responsible for designing and evolving of Data Technologies and Data Architecture for the Group.
  • Identification and selection of new solutions offered by the major Technology Providers.
  • Ensure that applications and data related services during their evolution are sustainable, maintainable and efficient.
  • Guide and develop the Data Governance processes and environments, contributing to the definition of the technological and procedural guidelines for the Group.
  • Guide and develop Machine Learning environment and initiatives.
  • Design and maintain the lifecycle of data integration and data virtualization tools and services.
  • Manage project initiatives and govern their delivery.
  • Support and improve the internal data platform and data ops tools leveraging the new paradigms of data mesh and data fabric.
  • Ensure that information security risks are properly identified, assessed and managed.

From a technical point of view, required knowledges are:

  • In-depth knowledge of Cloud data platforms and related catalogue offers for the ‘end to end’ design of the data Enterprise architecture.
  • Excellent knowledge of Informatica, Cloudera and Denodo.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Azure environment.
  • Knowledge of IoT platform and Edge applications will be considered a plus.
  • Knowledge of cloud computing and the specific features of IaaS, PaaS and SaaS services.
  • Good knowledge of the Dev & Ops and IAC paradigms and management/evolution of CI / CD pipelines.
  • Familiarity with relevant data tools and technologies is beneficial. This may include experience with databases (e.g., Sql-and NoSql based databases), data visualization tools (e.g., Qlik, PowerBI), and data analysis platforms (e.g., Pandas, NumPy, TensorFlow).
  • Knowledge of programming languages commonly used in data analysis, such as Python, R, or SQL, is highly desirable. Understanding how to write efficient code and work with data-related libraries and frameworks can significantly help.

Competencies / Experience are:

  • At least 5 years of experience in data management teams, technology system integration or Vendor player and 5 years’ experience in the technology transformation journey and Cloud technologies.
  • A degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related discipline is mandatory together with a strong foundation in STEM subjects.
  • Experience of working on large-scale software projects.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Good communication skills, flexible and adaptable, collaborative, enthusiastic with a high level of energy, self–motivation, resilience, drive and initiative.
  • Availability to possible business trips.
  • Proficiency in analytical thinking and problem-solving is crucial. This includes the ability to collect, clean, analyze, and interpret data effectively. Familiarity with statistical concepts and methods, as well as experience with data manipulation and visualization, would be advantageous.
