GVS North America is looking for an Supply Chain Manager: the eligible candidate will provide strategies to the company relating to all Supply Chain functions – purchasing, planning, production control, shipping and receiving, logistics, kitting, inventory management and warehousing.  

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACTIVITIES

  • Develop and implement supply chain strategies and initiatives in support of business strategies and goals designed to focus on impeccable service, lowest delivered cost and low working capital.

  • Develop logistic metrics, internal analysis tools or key performance indicators for business units. Use metrics, tools and KPI to identify opportunities for cost-reduction and process-improvement. 

  • Develop a production control and planning systems aimed to meet or exceed customer expectations and to balance the level of manpower and machine requirements.  

  • Work closely with all manufacturing departments to ensure proper implementation and utilization of production control and planning systems.  

  • Review and evaluate domestic and international supply chain and transportation management (sea, ground, air). Identify ways to improve efficiency of logistics activities.  

  • Design or analyze operational solutions for Logistics Engineering Projects such as Plan for Every Part (PFEP), transportation optimization, network modeling, process and methods analysis, logistics cost containment, capacity optimization, routing and shipment optimization, and information management.  

  • Analyze and recommend logistics flows and lay-out engineering and optimization according to Lean and continuous improvement principles and tools.  

  • Review contractual commitments, customer specifications or related information to determine logistics or support requirements.  

  • Work with sales and marketing to ensure that proper customer demand data is obtained and utilized in the planning system.  

  • Monitor maintenance of perpetual inventory system to ensure the highest degree of accuracy throughout the year. 

  • Ensure proper internal materials inventory levels, identify cost reduction opportunities and maximize plant efficiency. 

  • Assist in the development of new product costs in conjunction with the Finance, Engineering and Operations Management areas. 

  • Foster long term partnerships with key suppliers in lowering of inventory and acquisition costs. 

  • 10% travel throughout US to suppliers/customers’ sites. Occasional international travel to Europe or Asia. 

 

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent in Supply Chain Engineering, Industrial Engineering or similar field 

  • 2 years experience in Supply Chain or Logistics as coordinator or manager in international industrial environments 

  • Experience with MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) 

  • Experience with ERP management such as SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards or similar
