As Onshore Structure Engineer, you will join our CIVIL Department/Function, in the business line ENCAR (Energy Carriers), conducting the following activities:

  • Assist the Team Leader in guaranteeing the application and the continuous updating of the department and company standards, procedures and work instructions;
  • Define list of activities and deliverables related to steelworks, set up with the Discipline Leader the time schedule, coordinate activities in accordance with contractual requirements;
  • Ensure the coordination of the activities of the discipline executed inside or outside the company guaranteeing the consistency of the documents with the contract requirements, the respect of the time schedule, the assigned budget and the quality of the deliverables produced;
  • Interact with Client representatives and Vendors for all the technical topics impacting on the project for time and costs;
  • Ensure the steel works design (process industrial bldg, pipe racks, warehouse etc.), related to the assigned projects, on the basis given by the Discipline Leader, and in agreement with other disciplines;
  • Coordinate Engineering subcontractors and Steel Vendors;
  • Ensure the 3D model and drawing extraction of steel works according to the structural calculation;
  • Ensure the interfaces with the other Discipline Specialists and coordinate engineering activities performed inside or outside the Company;
  • Prepare detailed BOQ for steelworks in accordance with Company procedure and maintain updated MTOs in order to prevent and/or mitigate quantity escalation;
  • Track and report to Discipline Leader the scope of work changes updating quantity, manhour and cost estimates;
  • Prepare specification for purchase of steelworks material, providing technical support to Procurement Department in defining delivery lots during project execution;
  • Support Discipline Leader in the material requisition cycle (issue, bid technical evaluation, vendor qualification, supply follow up);
  • Ensure follow-up of steelwork manufacturer activities, approving shop drawings and monitoring delivery schedule in accordance with project needs;
  • Provide technical support to Project functions including Procurement and Construction;
  • Support Discipline Lead in technical interface with Client;
  • Provide support to field engineering at site;
  • Prepare modification drawings / instructions to be executed at site including punch list item clearing;

QUALIFICATION: Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering (any); Master Degree Structural would be a plus

KNOWLEDGE OF ENGLISH LANGUAGE: Proficient in English (B1 preferable)

LABOUR RELATIONSHIP: permanent contract

YEARS OF EXPERIENCE: 3-5;

IT SKILLS:

  • CAD (Autocad / BRICS Cad / Microstation)
  • TEKLA Structures
  • Navisworks
  • MS Office

SOFT SKILLS: Experience in working in a project team of engineers and able to operate (based upon prior experience) in both the design and operational environment and be able to adapt to different work conditions in office and at site.

Proficient in English language.

Minimum 3 years of experience in steel vendor coordination, preferable in petrochemical, oil & gas, power engineering companies.

Expert in TEKLA Structure software for reviewing and modelling.

Knowledge of collaborative environment such as BIM360 and/or Trimble Connect is a plus.

Experience in coordinating international Steel Vendor suppliers distributed in different location, as well as in engineering teams.

Sound understanding of applicable regulatory requirements in international settings.
