Head of Sales - Mendrisio Site (Ticino)

To strengthen our Commercial Department at our headquarter in Mendrisio (Switzerland), we are currently looking for a Head of Sales.

 

Position summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of Sales to lead our B2B sales execution across designated territories. This role is pivotal in building and maintaining strong relationships with key partners and stakeholders, driving the commercialization of Sintetica products. The ideal candidate will ensure the alignment of sales strategies with overall company objectives, developing training programs with marketing and alliance partners to boost sales and marketing effectiveness. Additionally, this role demands a proactive approach in analyzing partner performance, understanding market dynamics, and developing strategies to enhance product positioning and adoption.

Essential tasks and responsibilities

  • Responsible for the execution of B2B Sales across the responsible territory;
  • Build strong relationships with key partners and stakeholders, and help lead Sintetica product commercialization in these markets;
  • Ensure alignment of local country plans with the company plans, ensuring that sales efforts deliver as planned;
  • Develop, together with marketing, alliance partners training programs to ensure effective sales and marketing execution;
  • Analyze partner performance and identify opportunities for improvement;
  • Understand the market, the competitive trends, and be able to analyze and develop appropriate solutions to strengthen product positioning and adoption together with the local partner;
  • Develop, identify partners, and implement a comprehensive sales strategy for APAC and GCC markets, aligning with the company strategy;
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., marketing, regulatory, finance) to ensure partner success;
  • Travel to responsible markets (approximately 30%).

Knowledge and Skills

  • 10+ years of experience within the pharmaceutical industry including operational and strategy roles;
  • Proven track record of driving profitable revenue growth through partners;
  • Strong understanding of the APAC, and GCC markets. Other markets are a plus;
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
  • Proven ability to manage budgets and resources effectively;
  • Fluency in English, additional languages a plus;
  • Hands-on experience leading sales activities for specialty therapeutics, preferably in the hospital space;
  • Proven track record of success in previous roles;
  • Proven business planning and financial management acumen, with a data-driven and analytical approach to building new businesses, and the ability to analyze sales performance and implement plans for improvement, as needed;
  • Highly skilled, culturally sensitive, with an ability to build strong relationships and partner across the organization to achieve the company goals;
  • Pragmatic, yet creative and innovative;
  • Ability to work collaboratively and effectively together within cross-functional teams and networks;
  • Demonstrated communication skills, within a multi-cultural and multi-lingual global environment;
  • Derives energy from operating in a dynamic, complex, fast-moving, and frequently changing business environment;
  • Demonstrable experience with project management, proactive planning, priority setting, and securing alignment;
  • Drives toward outcomes.

 

Preference will be given to candidates of Swiss nationality and residents (Permit B -C)
