We are looking for a Fabrication bid activities coordinator.

MISSION:

  • Run Bid activities team with the relevant services/products/business knowledge required to prepare a winning offer, whilst taking ownership of the end-to-end tendering process.
  • Responsible of the implementation of all necessary bid procedures, governance, and process. Ensure management of Fabrication commercial bids to optimize success in contracts awarding and maximizing Company commercial results.
  • During the Pre-Bid activities, supports the Tendering coordination Service, in the pre-qualification phase of Saipem's Yards and, generally, supports providing fabrication capabilities.
  • In conjunction with the Commercial/tendering department, participates in the definition of the strategy to be followed for the Fabrication scope.
  • Prepares analyses on the Bid consistency, even by comparing the estimate with consolidated data, market benchmark, and previous Bid.

TASKs:

  • Analyze BID Contract requirements and conditions.
  • Promote and attend to the Fabrication bid kick-off meeting.
  • Define the bid cost structure, with the support of the Estimator.
  • Manage the interfaces with Partners and Client
  • Ensure the Development of the Fabrication Proposal Plan
  • Ensure the Definition of fabrication & procurement strategy, welding philosophy, method statement/erection sequence, load out philosophy, Fabrication schedule, material ROS date, engineering deliverable milestone, Yard Workload, subcon plan, equipment mob plan, and preparation of any document/study requested for the technical submission (including definition of technical queries and qualification)
  • Ensure the preparation of Fabrication cost.
  • Review the cost estimate of internally performed activities developed by the Estimator and based on the evaluations made by the other technical/operation teams.
  • Manage the post-bid clarification phase with the Client.
  • Ensure that Risks Analysis is correctly applied, guaranteeing through ROBS (Risks and Opportunity Breakdown Structure) the definition of the risk register through the Risks and Opportunity methodology application.

Professional skills:

  • Knowledge of construction sequences for relevant disciplines. Knowledge of activities weight (standard man-hours, expected man-hours) and applicable efficiency). Ability to execute construction sequences planning, including the scheduling of the activities, to ensure the achievement of mechanical completion in respect of the schedule and the final handover. Ability to implement the right staffing for construction activities and sequences for all relevant disciplines.
  • Capability to prepare the proposal/tender for the project, including the prequalification phase, assuring that client requirements are respected. Ability to fully answer all Clients' requests in a clear, unambiguous, and concise manner. Knowledge of all tendering process stages (e.g. preparation of tender documents, prequalification, evaluation of bids, award of work, etc.) assuring compliance with company policy and procedures;
  • Capability to manage complete Fabrication project cost estimation critically analyzing different cost estimate solutions based on external input or elements arising from new contexts, supporting the risk evaluation with cost estimate elements.
  • Knowledge of the process of preparing, evaluating, negotiating, and proposing contractual documentation concerning partners and subcontractors.
  • Knowledge and understanding of fabrication sequences for fixed facilities and their own disciplines. Knowledge of resource planning and production activity duration. Ability to estimate the productive resource for a defined task. Ability to report performance indicators, identify criticalities, and propose corrective actions.
  • Knowledge of fabrication execution workflow.
  • Familiarity with fabrication and installation techniques
  • Knowledge of how to collect data from available information systems, capability to assess the reliability of these data, and capability to represent the relevant data in a clear way.
  • Capability to plan and optimize the resources deployment in line with the Tender time schedule ensuring continuous monitoring and control.
  • Capability to understand and manage tendering strategically issues, implementing approaches/solutions in the proposal activities, identifying their impact in terms of cost, time, and execution plan.
  • Capability to identify, evaluate, and estimate the level of risk involved in a situation, to compare it against benchmarks or standards and to determine an acceptable level. Capability to maintain a systematic liaison with the Corporate Function ensuring full compliance and application of Corporate Guidelines and Standards. 
  • Lead the group with credibility towards the achievement of team objectives, making people aware of their responsibilities and ensuring their commitment by engaging and empowering them. Support individual development by mentoring and coaching.
  • Communicate in a simple, clear and assertive way. Adapt own approach to different audiences to have a positive impact and to gain support for own plans.
  • Lead and steer actions with full accountability and tenacity to ensure successful outcomes. Set goals and plan the actions needed to meet short- and long-term targets.
