Project Logistics Manager

As a Project Logistics Manager, you will join the Logistics department in the Supply Chain function.

Main tasks:

  • Develop integrated strategies, planning, execution, control for Project shipping, customs and site logistic activities of purchased/owned/CPI goods in a safe and timely manner, within allocated budget.
  • Ensure coordination between Project management and the various interfaces involved in the supply chain process (i.e. Engineering, Procurement, Post Order, Site Logistics Manager and own operational logistics team on site).
  • Prepare Project transport and customs scope of works, specifications according to the contractual terms agreed with Clients, the information provided by Engineering (MTO, BoQ, Equipment List, transport drawings, etc.) and all goods country of origin provided through POs/Procurement Plan.
  • Issue Purchase Requisitions and manage Technical Bid Evaluations for dedicated project Transport contracts/agreement.
  • Guarantee a proper flow of information and adequate tracking of Project transportation, support Material Managers to updated material tracking reports or any other document required to monitor the status of the various shipments.
  • Coordinate Project transport and customs activities through the Shipping and Customs Officers assigned to the Project.
  • During project startup phase, review Contract Documents, contribute to Risk / Opportunity assessment, prepare and issue Project Logistics Execution Plan and Procedures.
  • Develop costeffective logistic strategies for complex Onshore and Offshore EPCI projects both in commercial and execution phase. Manage materials transportation from vendors to consolidation/ marshalling/lay down/fabrication yards and/or to final construction site/installation vessel.
  • Liaise with the Site Logistics Manager, where appointed, to streamline and optimize the overall logistics process.
  • Prepare and distribute Project Shipping Instructions.
  • Management of shipments of the various types of materials that characterize the Oil & Gas and/or Energy industry, i.e. abnormal loads (columns, tanks, heat exchangers, boilers, furnaces, packages) even modularized, classified dangerous material to be managed in the various transport methods, sea, air and road, knowledge of the management procedures of goods classified as dual use.
  • Assess the best method to transport all materials and supplies to site including aggregate material and material for early work activities (civil works, camp preparation, etc.) and develop with engineering/methods feasibility studies for the transport/logistics of modules (PAU/PAR) in both remote and industrialized areas.
  • Develop logistic surveys and studies in remote areas to assess maximum weight and volume profiles that can be transported.
  • Regularly control and arrange for Approval of Work Orders, in order to guarantee a proper overall administrative flow.
  • Regularly control and update budgets/costs incurred with related variations to support Project Cost Control.

QUALIFICATION: Degree preferably in Engineering or a similar qualification

KNOWLEDGE OF ENGLISH LANGUAGE: Fluent (B2)

LABOUR RELATIONSHIP: Permanent contract

YEARS OF EXPERIENCE: Minimum 8 years’ experience in Shipping and Customs/Logistics activities, preferably in an Oil & Gas and/or Infrastructures and/or Energy industry or Shipping companies.

TECHNICAL SKILLS: Deep knowledge of INCOTERMS; good knowledge of shipping and chartering terms and technical terminologies related to maritime and air shipments.

SOFT SKILLS: Teamwork and leadership skills and cross functional team coordination attitude; problem solving skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.

Availability to international mobility.

LOCATION: Milano, Via Russolo 5 (Rogoredo).

Possibility of frequent short and medium-term business trips in Italy and abroad and overseas contracts.

The first and imminent possible destination could be at the Saipem branch office in Chennai, India
