As Corrosion-Materials Engineer Junior, you will join our Material Technologies Department, Fano Offshore Engineering Hub, in the business line Asset Based Services (no Drilling), conducting the following activities:

  • Material selection and corrosion assessments;
  • Review of project/bids documentation and preparation of clarifications/deviations based on Saipem requirements;
  • Preparation of project material specification, requisition and scope of works for the main material items used in the Offshore/subsea business (pipes; bends; forgings; fittings; structural steel);
  • Review of vendors’ documentation (e.g. manufacturing, inspection and testing procedure);
  • Review of vendor’s offers, technical negotiation and preparation of technical bid evaluations;
  • Follow up of vendors supplies including the participation to KOM (kick-off meeting), PIM (pre inspection meeting), MPQT (Material Procedure Qualification Test) and management of technical criticalities during the production phase;
  • Support to the project and bids for any issue related to materials and corrosion
  • Depending on the specific needs, the material and corrosion engineer may be required to participate to specific R&D developments.

QUALIFICATION: Master Degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Material engineering

KNOWLEDGE OF ENGLISH LANGUAGE: B1 or higher

YEARS OF EXPERIENCE: NA

IT SKILLS: Good knowledge of Office package.

  • Commitment to complete the tasks fulfilling tight deadlines and quality requirements.

NICE TO HAVE:

  • Good knowledge of corrosion phenomena;
  • Good knowledge of material properties;
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical testing;
  • Basic knowledge of welding and NDT.

LOCATION: Fano (PU) (Italy). Availability to missions in Italy and abroad is required.
