As Civil and Strcutural Engineer, you will join our Department CIVFA-Fano Civil Engineering, in the business line ENCAR, conducting the following activities:

 

  • Perform technical tasks assigned by the discipline leader (Civil and Structural Lead), related with structural calculation, verification and checking activities, in order to ensure compliance with project requirements in terms of budget, time schedule and quality standards.
  • Interface with the other discipline specialists to gather information and coordinate activities performed inside or outside the Company.
  • Provide technical support for the development of technological skills, for commercial aspects and for the feasibility phases.
  • Review contract project technical documentation and requirements.
  • Prepare design specifications for concrete foundation and steel design.
  • Set up and execute assigned engineering activities such as detail design, verification and studies relevant to any engineering topic associated to Discipline, pursuing objectives of sound engineering and design optimization in term of costs, fabrication ease and safety.
  • Control subcontracted discipline engineering documents.
  • Develop studies and calculation notes for reinforced concrete, piling works, steel structures (including connection details) and structural concrete/steel buildings.
  • Prepare the scope of work and technical documentation for soil investigation contract, issue the technical bid tabulation for all geotechnical offers received.
  • Provide technical support to discipline lead for preparation of technical specification, for the technical evaluations and in technical interface with Client.
  • Provide design alternatives to prevent or mitigate quantities increase during project execution.
  • Provide technical support for field construction and provide assistance for any engineering adjustments on site.

 

QUALIFICATION: 

Master degree in:

- or civil engineering (structures address)

- or civil and environmental engineering (structures address)

- or construction-architecture (structures address)

KNOWLEDGE OF ENGLISH LANGUAGE: B2

LABOUR RELATIONSHIP: permanent contract

YEARS OF EXPERIENCE: 0-5

IT SKILLS:

  • Knowledge of software and tools for structural design (such.
  • Basic knowledge of tools related to 2D drawing and 3D modeling.
  • Familiarity with the Microsoft Office package.

SOFT SKILLS:

  • Knowledge of calculation methods for foundation design, concrete works and concrete and steel structures, including soil improvement techniques.
  • Knowledge of the construction materials and tests aimed at knowing their characteristics.
  • Capability to prepare design report and calculation sheets to sustain technical meetings, to estimate quantities for bid preparation basing upon preliminary data or change orders during project execution.
  • Knowledge of discipline engineering design criteria, methods and workflows from conceptual phase up to site engineering phase.
  • Capability to perform and coordinate project engineering documents production activities and to check and review design documents, prepared either internally or by external engineering suppliers.
  • Knowledge of main international discipline standards, codes and regulations and capability to analyze dedicated project requirements in terms of local standards and codes and to identify proper implementation actions.
  • Capability to define the general rules and guidelines for quantities estimation and capability to control and ensure their correct application by all team members and all subcontractors involved.
  • Capability to analyze engineering documents identifying improvement areas in terms of cost/time optimization.
  • Capability to handle subcontracted engineering work packages defining the scope of work, the milestones and documentation deliverables. Capability to control the quality, the costs and the timing of the subcontracted activities ensuring the compliance with project scheduling and goals and with contract requirements.
  • Knowledge of finite elements calculation tools.
  • Knowledge of the numerical simulation including the following skills: capability to implement the finite elements model using a consistent system of measurement units (i.e. model dimensions vs. imposed force/displacement).
  • Capability to prescribe a set of boundary condition (displacement, rotation, temperatures, etc.) and to select the most suitable element type to represent properly the structural behavior. Impose a set of loads (force, pressure, etc.) consistent with the actual load history.
  • Capability to select the proper calculation methodology to be used in the numerical simulation (static, dynamic, standard, explicit, linear, non-linear, etc.).
  • Capability to perform technical evaluation of vendor bids for material and subcontracted work packages.
