Corporate SAP Project Manager - Mendrisio site (Ticino)

For our site in Mendrisio (Switzerland), we are looking for a Corporate SAP Project Manager (full time) to be included in the Digital Affairs Team.


Essential tasks and responsibilities:

Reporting to the Corporate Digital Affairs Director, he will oversee the IT activities related to the management, implementation, and rollout of the company ERP SAP 4/Hana, and will interpret the company needs, identify the expected result, and define the analyses and the functional technical documentation.

The Corporate Manager will be responsible and contact person for the SAP area in ​​the Digital Affairs Department, coordinating the related team, made up of collaborators in the Operations/Logistic and Finance/Controlling areas.

Interfacing, on the one hand, with the system integrator and on the other with the company business, he will define the solutions to be implemented, coordinate the activities and the various players involved, assessing the quality of the developments and their actual compliance and adoption.

The Corporate SAP Project Manager responsibilities include:

  • support the continuous process of software research, vendor selection and the department digital innovation
  • coordinate the activities of projects concerning the implementation, rollout, and maintenance of the new company ERP SAP 4/Hana
  • work closely with System Integrators with the dual role of Project Manager and Subject Matter Expert on the functional areas of the project
  • plan and manage the work and the progress of digital projects activities
  • review technical documentation, including specifications produced by internal or external specialists.
  • Coordinate the SAP Area IT Team, assigning tasks to collaborators and monitoring their progress
  • In collaboration with the System Integrators, Manage independently the following activities:

o Planning and coordination of all project activities.

o Assessment and gap analysis to support business functions.

o Design of the solution.

o Coordination, support and, when necessary, execution of test activities in accordance with the protocols and best practices provided for in the Pharma Industry.

  • Support and coordinate the maintenance activities of the department application platforms both from a corrective and evolutionary point of view.
  • Coordinate and support user training activities to ensure effective take-over by the business of the new systems.
  • Work closely with departmental colleagues to address effective integration of all systems.
  • Cooperate with the respective department managers to achieve the planned objectives by reporting progress to the department director.


Required skills and core competencies:

• Degree in IT, scientific and economic disciplines.

• IT skills and proven experience in the use and implementation of SAP management software.

• In-depth knowledge of at least two/three of the following SAP modules: EWM, MM, SD, PP-PI, QM.

• Experience in manufacturing companies with in-depth knowledge of specific processes in operations and in logistic management of the logical and particularly of the physical warehouse

• At least 10 years of experience on SAP projects, of which at least 5 in the position of Project Manager and preferably in the management of projects within pharmaceutical manufacturing companies.

• Knowledge of information systems validation processes (CSV) in compliance with GAMP and CFR21 Part 11.

• Teamwork aptitude, good organizational skills, flexibility.

• Innovative approach and orientation towards digitization.

• Good knowledge of English, knowledge of French and German also represents a plus.


Preference will be given to candidates of Swiss nationality and residents (Permit B -C)
