Project and Support Engineer Qatar


Location: Qatar

Reporting to: Client Services Manager


Job mission

As a member of Qatar Project, you will be responsible for the installing, configuring, testing, and deploying of OCEM’s AGL products into customer environment. This will typically be in three phases, namely office-based system setup, followed by remote installation and then finally onsite commissioning, integration, acceptance, training, go-live (including cutover support) and troubleshooting defects which are reported by customer during warranty and support periods.


Duties and Responsibilities


  • Ensuring appropriate response to all issues within the defined Service Level Agreement (SLA).
  • Problem diagnosis and resolution minimizing system down time and impact to operations.
  • Liaison with HQ expertise team to ensure fixes are deployed to all appropriate systems.
  • Pro-active monitoring of systems to minimize unexpected problems.
  • Specification, implementation, testing and deployment of system enhancement under the direction of line manager.
  • Prepare weekly support report as required.

Delivering Solutions /Projects

  • Prepare requirements, design and implementation documentation as required throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Assemble and tailor all Acceptance Test specifications
  • Support all integration testing and trialing activities as required.
  • Prepare and deliver end user training.
  • Participate in HQ liaison as required (by phone / email) on technical matters.

Managing Opportunities

  • Contribute to pre-sales support for specific opportunities.
  • Contribute to bids to help secure new business, and contract variations.

Skills and Experience

  • Confidence to work independently on a client’s site.
  • First Class Degree in Engineering.
  • Ability to identify and resolve issues.
  • Ability to write clearly and concisely.
  • Understand the importance of writing documentation.
  • Able to follow company’s processes and procedures.
  • Able to follow company’s regulation for Confidential information and data.
  • Fluent English (oral and written communication skills, in order to liaise with HQ)
