For a multinational company, leader in the railway field, we are looking for:




The person, reporting to the General Manager of the Railway BU, will be responsible for the development and maintainement of long-term business relations with international customers from all over the world, coordinating the efficient customer service in terms of business processes, negotiation and supervision of contract execution and providing information on the market situation, sales and competition.

Main activities:  

  • Managing a team of Regional Sales Leaders, across Europe;
  • Spends a minimum 70% to 75% of time with customers in passenger segment (OEM, Tier 1, Operators, potential partners/competitors ect), agents, distributors, and exploring new territories to drive orders and sales
  • Works with R&D, AE, supply chain, production, and appropriate internal colleagues to ensure sales hit weekly and monthly quotas (highlights in advance if any issues predicted), quotations and deliveries to ensure meet customers’ requested date or better
  • Work with sales director(s) and sales leader(s) to update strategy by costumers on a quarterly way to ensure granularity, accuracy and help to shape products, sales strategy and key initiative to ensure growth and expansion of share of wallet
  • Accountable to contribute to growth of service and AM sales/presence and relevance within specific area collaborating closely and positively with service and aftermarket team
  • Pursue sales leads; visit existing and new customers who may be of strategic importance to the organization; respond to more complex customer enquiries; negotiate prices and delivery times within limits of authority, and conclude sales orders to meet revenue targets.
  • Develop long-term sales plans for key customers and accounts and monitor and adapt sales activities so that these objectives are met.
  • Establish annual, quarterly, monthly, or weekly sales plans and priorities and schedule own activities so these targets are met.
  • Responsible to ensure minimum stock of FG on hand at plant and/or on consignment in order to ensure OTD to customers vs requested date and serving company’s benefits from low inventory level.
  • Monthly visit operators and service depots to understand problems, helping to manage any issues on the field managing crisis; understand specification and application requirements to ensure our design is fit for application and customer unknown needs.

Required Skills:

  • Higher education, preferably foreign trade, marketing or economics, technical knowledge would be an advantage.
  • Fluent English, knowledge of the German language is a must.
  • Professional experience in the rail industry.
  • Experience in Sales positions related to B2B.
  • Ability to establishing and maintaining business contacts.
  • Strong ability to develop relationship and customer intimacy.
  • Teamwork.
  • Negotiations skills.
  • Readiness to frequent and regular business trips.
