Head of Engineering

AREAS OF RESPONSABILITIES

  • Unit Leadership. Leads the engineering unit. Manages all elements of activities including people (staffing need, recruiting process. performance assessment, work plan, job assignment definition, developmental plans etc.), operational budget, site logistics, quality programs management, safety program management etc..
  • People Leadership. Leads a team of c.a 40 people. The candidate will have full delegation for coaching, people development, performance assessment, job assignment and work plan definition, job rotation, improvement plans, priority setting, people morale, talent development and any other aspect which relates to people management.
  • Company Capital Budget management. Manage the full Capital Budget (several tens of millions of Euro per year), including investments for initiatives, asset maintenance and improvement, safety and legal compliances. His responsibilities include forecast, tracking, priority allocation.
  • Engineering Program Leadership. Is responsible for setting the strategic vision for his area of responsibility, defining the strategy to achieve the vision, identifying and putting in place the enabling capabilities and organization intervention.

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Leadership. We are looking for a person with robust leadership skills, in all its aspects: Envisioning (ability to set the vision for Engineering to become a Point of Difference vs. Competition), Engage (ability to get relevant stakeholders to embrace the vision), Energise (ability to energise the organization), Enable (ability to put in place the required technical capabilities and people/organizational interventions), Execute (ability to turn the vision in reality).
  • Entrepreneurship. We need a person that is able to take ownership of the business and act as an entrepreneur, with the obsession to stay ahead of competition. We need sense of business, pragmatism, ability to tap into external resources and network, ability to balance technical rigour and discipline with speed to market and sense of financial scarcity.
  • Passion for winning. We need a person that has desire to achieve and proven ability to do that. We want Speed and Low Cost Solution as the way to think and operate.
  • Technical Background. We need a person with 10-15 years solid Engineering background
